Why it’s easy to feel good and stay well in Troy.
A walk along one of Troy’s many verdant trails, a canoe trip along the Great Miami River, a concert on a warm summer evening in beautiful Prouty Plaza—Troy offers a lifestyle that’s great for the heart and soul, and that also means state-of-the-art cardiac care. In fact, while you’ll find plenty of ways to keep yourself healthy, in Troy you’ll also enjoy the services of not just one, but two premier acute-care health care facilities right here in town, a rare advantage in a city of this size.
Kettering Health Network - Troy Hospital: When the 28-bed Troy Hospital, part of the Kettering healthcare system, opened its doors in June 2019, the hospital welcomed the community to a superb new healthcare setting—a three-story, 150,000-square-foot facility equipped with the latest technology and infused with holistic beauty. Innovation and holistic care have been at the heart of Kettering service since the system’s founding more than 50 years ago. Since its founding as a single hospital, Kettering has grown into a network of eight not-for-profit hospitals, Kettering College (which educates students in the health sciences), and over 120 outpatient centers. That means Troy Hospital can provide all the advantages of caring local service, backed by the strength and access of a multi-hospital network which includes Ohio’s leading heart hospital, cutting-edge cancer-fighting technology, and advanced brain and spine surgical resources.
Premier Health - Upper Valley Medical Center: The accolades keep coming for the 151-bed Upper Valley Medical Center (UVMC), the most recent being the Magnet® Award from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, which indicates the highest standard for excellence in patient care. At UVMC’s 100-acre Troy campus, expansions have included additions to the cancer care center, and today the wide range of advanced care includes not only outstanding cancer care, but also excellent and responsive maternity care, behavioral health, cardiac care (including catheterization), long-term care, and an emergency department. UVMC also offers the only Level II Special Care Nursery in the area. Part of the Premier Health network, the largest comprehensive healthcare system in the region, UVMC is assured of robust financial resources and leading-edge collaboration.
Dayton Children’s Hospital: Ranked one of the top hospitals in the nation in pulmonology care in the 2019-2020 U.S. News Best Children’s Hospitals review, Dayton Children’s Hospital opened a satellite clinic in Troy in 2019, offering comprehensive services including laboratory, imaging (EKG, ultrasound, and x-ray), rehabilitation, orthopedics, cardiology, and endocrinology.
Troy is also less than 3.5 hours from the main campus of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, which consistently ranks as one of the nation’s top hospitals in multiple areas of care, treating more than 4 million patients per year, over half of them non-Ohio residents coming from across the nation.
